I was driving down the road one late night

Feeling a little too average in Pleasant Point

Wondered why there weren’t stars in the sky

And glanced at the empty passenger’s seat

But then I heard brand new sound

It chilled my bones, I searched the ground

The land was empty, but not the sky

Then I saw his big, red eyes

And instantly, I knew

I fell in love with Mothman

His bulky arms and widespread wings

Flew me where I’d never been

Who needs a man when I have

An ambiguous cryptid for a lover
